About
Clint Bleaney is the sole artist behind Tree Coast Carving's beautiful creations. He was born and raised in the small town of Port Hardy, BC, where he began his training with chainsaws at 10 years old. By 18, he was working in remote camps on northern Vancouver Island cutting shake blocks and, by 25, he was trained and working as a hand-faller along BC's coastline.
The logging industry has its ups and downs, with markets and seasonal weather causing weeks or months with little work. It was during one of these periods that Clint picked up his chainsaw to see if his high school artistic abilities would translate from paper to wood, and perhaps keep his bills paid and food on the table.
His natural abilities were evident right away, but Clint has spent thousands of hours over the last two decades learning, creating and pushing the boundaries of both his skill and his imagination. He continues to work as a hand-faller, which is work he loves. He also take every opportunity to compete in regular carving competitions around the province.
